Have a Happy Disney World Fourth of July!

For those of you heading down to Walt Disney World for July 4th, here is what you can expect.

At Magic Kingdom, “Disney’s Celebrate America! A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky” will light the skies at 9:00 pm on July 4 reflecting on our forefather’s hopes and dreams for the future of our country.  For those guests celebrating early on July 3, the display will also be presented at 9:00 pm.

At Hollywood Studios, the “Rockin’ 4th of July Celebration” will take place at 9:45 pm, with performances of Fantasmic! scheduled for 9:00 and 10:30 pm.  This special show features landscapers Mulch, Sweat and Shears, who will take guests on a “musical road trip”, highlighting each region of the country’s contribution to rock and roll.  Fireworks, lighting and special effects will accompany live music from Mulch, Sweat & Shears.

At Epcot, check out “Illuminations:  Reflections of Earth”, which will include “the Heartbeat of Freedom” which has traditional Americana themes displayed with fireworks, pyrotechnics and laser lights.  This show will be at 10pm on July 4.

Additionally, guests can stop by the American Adventure to find Benjamin Franklin, Betsy Ross and Disney characters in patriotic outfits for a meet and greet, while listening to the “Voices of Liberty 4th of July Concert”.

Hours for the parks on July 4 (subject to change without notice) are:  Magic Kingdom, 9 am to 1 am; Epcot, 9 am to 10 pm; Hollywood Studios, 9 am to 10 pm; and Animal Kingdom, 9 am to 8 pm.  Walt Disney Resort guests can take advantage of Extra Magic Hours at Hollywood Studios until 1 am.  Keep in mind the parks can close due to capacity.  As a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel guest, you are guaranteed admission to a theme park, though it may not be the one you want to go to so arrive early for admission on the holidays.

  1. Disney is an amazing place to be on July 4 – they put on a fireworks show like no other. However, be prepared for huge crowds. If you keep the right mindset you will have a great time.
