Cruise Repeater Programs

In this day and age, everyone is competing for your loyalty.  For a long time we have had frequent flyer programs, grocery store reward plans and other discount cards.  Cruise lines are no different, but their programs are very different.

Many of these programs are automatic, meaning once you cruise you are automatically a member of the program.  Some, however must be applied for after your first cruise, like Royal Caribbean and Celebrity.  Your membership is automatic after you apply, but you must take the steps.

Our Anniversary Means Promotions For You!

One year ago, on June 20, 2010, Travel On A Dream booked its first reservation!  Today through the end of June, 2011, we will be celebrating in a big way!  While our start up was very slow while we worked on our website, blog and Facebook pages, we always cherished the memories of the day when we made that booking and looked forward to celebrating that day year after year.  Though our official “opening” date was much later than that, we knew that with our service and dedication to our clients, there will be many more anniversaries to come.

For our first anniversary, we want to share this with all of you!  We are offering some great deals and fun prizes as well!  First, for the deals.  Ok, the first isn’t a deal, but we are now able to book the first 10 months of 2012 for your Disneyland and Disney World stays.  For a new quote, you can submit your request here.

Next we will be having a cruise sale!  From now through June 20, 2011, there will be some special offers on Princess, Cunard, and Celebrity for you.  For Princess Cruises, we have reduced deposits to $100 per person plus a coupon book valued at $325 for onboard purchases.  For Cunard, we have waived deposits for the second guest in each room plus onboard credits up to $300!  On Celebrity, we have 50% reduced deposits on ocean view and above staterooms plus $100 to $200 off select sailings.  For Royal Caribbean, we are working to get you an extra onboard credit, up to $100 per person!  Starting Friday, June 24 through July 1 we will have special offers on Holland America Line, with a reduced deposit and onboard value booklet, with over $450 in savings! For Norwegian Cruise Line, the first two bookings will receive a reduced deposit of only $250!  Restrictions may apply for all of these sales, so please ask.

These specials are not available to everyone, just to Travel On A Dream clients.  Additionally, there will be other sales offered for many of the cruise lines to everyone!  Watch our blog and Facebook wall these next couple weeks for details.

We also wanted to remind everyone that we still have some group space available on the Disney Fantasy on October 20, 2012.  These prices are lower than the current prices for this date.  The deposits are $250 per person.  There is no surcharge for the events that Travel On A Dream will be offering on this cruise either!  We would love to have you join us!  Please email for more information or submit a request for a quote.

We are updating our mailing lists for promotions. If you would like to be added to our mailing list, please email Indicate what information you would like to be updated with (anything, just Disney, just cruises, specific promotions, etc.). We will not sell or distribute your email address to anyone else and promise to limit our emails.

Finally, we will be having a promotion for all of our blog and Facebook friends.  We want to hear what it takes for you to Travel On A Dream!  Post your ideas for a dream vacation either as a comment to this blog or on our Facebook page for your entry.  You can post a new idea every day for another chance to win.  If you post a link to our wall on your wall, you will also receive an entry.  There will also be ways to earn bonus entries by booking your dream vacation (or any trip) with our agents.

Enter as many times as you’d like, but only one idea per day and one link to our wall each day will count.  Only one prize will be allowed per person, so we will pick the best prizes first and notify you either by email or Facebook message.  Your contact information will not be disclosed to any third parties.  The contest ends June 30, 2011 at 5:00 pm EDT.

We will be giving away ToaD merchandise, Disney Cruise Line Posters, a Celebrity Cruise Line tote bag, an Adventures by Disney backpack and a Don “Ducky” Williams lithograph, and a few other things in addition to bonus onboard credits (or gift cards for non-cruisers).  We will be giving a $50 onboard credit/gift card and three $25 onboard credits/gift card.  If we reach 1000 fans on Facebook by June 30, we will also add in a $100 onboard credit/gift card.  If we reach 2000 fans on Facebook, we will also add in a $200 onboard credit/gift card!

Thank you for making this year for us!  We look forward to working with you for many years to come!

True Costs of A Cruise Vacation

Many travelers select a cruise vacation with the impression that they are all inclusive vacations.  While a cruise vacation is fairly inclusive and there are some cruise lines that do offer all inclusive packages, there are some things that you will have to pay for and should take into account when planning a cruise vacation.

In general, all cruise fares will include your room, meals, entertainment, port fees and government taxes, but what does this mean?

2012 – 2013 Cruise Deployments Announced

March has brought us information on some of the major cruise line’s deployments for their ships for 2012 to 2013.  Many of these sailings are available to book now.  We are seeing the schedule through Spring of 2013 for Norwegian Cruise Line, Princess Cruises, Cunard, Royal Caribbean and Celebrity, to name a few. The only major cruise line we haven’t heard from yet is Disney. Disney usually has opened a full calendar year at a time, while other cruise lines typically open a year at a time, but not based on the calendar. It is usually based on the season of travel. Caribbean sailings usually are open from fall to fall, Alaskan and Mediterranean sailings are a bit later to open and we are seeing deployments for summer 2012 right now. World cruises are also open.

We are seeing fewer cruises in the Mexican Riviera for next year. We are also seeing more cruises in Europe and Australia/New Zealand. A number of cruise lines are also sending ships to New York City and Galveston.

With Disney we are expecting an announcement on April 6, 2011 with bookings for Platinum and Gold Castaway Club members starting shortly thereafter. While previously we had believed that the Disney Magic would be going to the Mediterranean again, we now anticipate a new change with the Disney Magic stationed in New York City for the summer of 2012 and then reposition to Galveston for the fall and winter following. We’re still unclear as to what the Disney Wonder will be doing. We expect that the Disney Dream may add in some 5 night sailings in the fall or winter of 2012 since that schedule has not been released yet like the Fantasy was.

Disney Cruise planners seem to plan much further in advance than others, which is making this delay more difficult. I am seeing a number of people look towards other cruise lines because they no longer want to wait to hear what Disney has to offer.

We will, of course, be blogging as soon as we get information from Disney about where the ships will be going.

Celebrity’s Xclusive Europe Sale

It’s time to see Europe on a Celebrity Solstice® Class ship with Celebrity.  From March 7 – 9, 2011, Celebrity Cruises has three offers for you.  First you will receive $300 off ocean view staterooms or higher.  Plus, you will pay a reduced deposit of only $300 per stateroom and on select sailings, you can receive a free upgrade from an ocean view stateroom to one with a balcony.  With sailings from 7 to 14 nights covering the Mediterranean, Arctic Circle, Holy Land and the Baltics, you can’t go wrong.

Additionally, you can get free upgrades on select Caribbean sailings on the Solstice and Eclipse.

Both promotions can be combined with our onboard credit offer at Travel On A Dream.  Contact us today!
