Disney Fantasy – New Shows

While onboard the Magical Preview Cruise of the Disney Fantasy® last weekend, we had a chance to see the two new production shows that will be performed weekly on the Disney Fantasy.  We also saw Disney’s Believe, which is on the Dream as well.  I skipped Disney’s Believe and opted to get additional questions answered for clients since I’ve already seen this show.

The first show that we saw was Disney’s Wishes.  This story is about three high school seniors who are about to graduate and go to Disneyland one last time as seniors.  One of the kids makes a wish about their future, which takes them all into another world with a variety of musical numbers. I was able to take pictures as they instructed us we could not use video or flash photography only.

Disney Fantasy Christening – A Star Studded Event

Back in December, I received a call from my District Sales manager to tell me that I would be invite to the Christening of the Disney Fantasy.  I was overjoyed!  I had been to the Disney Dream’s Christening and it was an amazing experience.  This would be much different, though.  For the Disney Dream, we arrived a day prior, stayed at the Wilderness Lodge and had a private party at the Magic Kingdom.  The next day we attended the Christening Ceremony at Port Canaveral, outside of curse, and then embarked on a two-night cruise.

For the Fantasy though, this would be in New York City during a cruise from Germany to Port Canaveral.  We would not be cruising or have a party in the Magic Kingdom.

As we walked over to the party, we saw the ship in the distance.  It was amazing to see her docked in the Big Apple!

Change To Dining/Show Times On The Disney Dream

We thought the three show times were going to be too much for the theater performers on the Disney Dream. They now think so too. Effective immediately, the Disney Dream will be offering two shows each night at 6:15 pm and 8:30 pm. As a result of this change, the dining times will also be altered to 5:45 pm for main dining and 8:15 pm for late dining.

The performances will only be twice each night, however, Villains Tonight and Disney’s Believe will also have matinee shows.

I feel this will be much better as we had one 5:00 pm show on the Christening Cruise followed by 6:00 pm dinner. It was a rush to get from the theater to Animator’s Palate.

As of now, the Disney Fantasy is still scheduled to have three shows however. We again expect this to change.

Disney’s “Believe”

This is a new show developed for the Disney Dream. It is a story about a botanist who is so wrapped up in his work, he doesn’t even notice his daughter growing up. He wishes that his watering can were a magic lamp and then the Genie from Aladdin appears! He of course wastes his first two wishes but then mutters he wished he could believe in magic like his daughter does. The Genie spends the rest of the show trying to grant this final wish.

Here are some photos from this wonderful addition to the lineup of productions from Disney Cruise Line.
