Last Blog on This Site

We are happy to say that we have a new upgraded site at Travel On A Dream!  We’d like to thank our web designer and graphic artist Caitlin for all of her hard work to get the site up and running so quickly.

Our new site combines both our blog and website in one easy to use format.  Since the blog will be there as well, we will no longer be updating this blog site.  Please come visit us at the new site!  We will be adding the ability to subscribe to the blog updates in the near future.

Happy Birthday ToaD (and Tripp)

June 20, 2010 we booked our very first reservation as Travel On A Dream.  Three years later, we are still going strong, stronger than ever, thanks to all of you.  Thousands of cruises and travel packages later we have grown from just a dream of mine to ten agents.  We cannot thank you enough for putting your faith and trust in us to take care of your travel plans.  Your personal bookings and your referrals of us to your friends and families mean more than words can say.

thanks-so-much-frogs

Referrals mean the world to us.  When you go to a restaurant and the service is sub-par, you don’t tell your friends to go there.  In fact, you tell them NOT to go there.  When you refer people to us, you are saying that not only were you happy with the service, you are willing to put your reputation on the line by telling others about it.  To thank you for these referrals, we offer referral rewards and have from the beginning.  We have paid out hundreds of referral credits and gift cards.

Double Referral Credits!

As a birthday gift to all of you, we are doubling our referral credits for the next month!  For all new referrals with bookings deposited by July 20, 2013, we will give you double referral credit.  For example, if your friend books a $2500 package, on your next trip booked with Travel On A Dream after they travel, you normally will receive either a $25 gift card or onboard credit.  With our double referral credit promotion, you will receive $50!

We also love groups!  As you may know, we have cruise groups going to the Bahamas this October, Southern Caribbean next October and Alaska in August, 2014.  There is still room for more so come join us!

Groups Bonus!

As another birthday gift to all of you, any new groups booked and deposited before July 20, 2013 of at least five rooms will receive a bonus.  Groups can be organized tours, airfare/hotel packages, cruises or Disney packages.  The group coordinator will receive double onboard credit for their cabin on the cruise or $100 gift card for packages.  Adventures by Disney packages may qualify for an additional bonus.  Get your group of friends or family together and contact us today!  Please note, this cannot be combined with the referral credits for the group leader, but your agent will give you the better of the two promotions.

Itinerary Planning Changes

Over the years we have handled a variety of travel plans for you.  We have done so in many cases without a service fee to you.  We want to continue to serve you without fees and will do so with most cruises, tours and Disney Destinations.

Effective June 20, 2013, Super Saver rates on Carnival and any stand-alone hotel and airfare reservations will be subject to a service fee.  For one night stays or airfare only reservations, the fee will be $50.  For longer stays or Carnival Super Saver rates, the fee will be $100 per room/cabin.  More detailed vacation planning may be subject to higher fees.  We are finding that we are working harder for the great rates and many of the travel suppliers are putting limitations on what they will pay us (with many of the lowest rates, they won’t pay at all).  These fees will allow us to continue to give you top quality service.

Thank you!

Thank you again for helping us achieve this milestone.  Without your support (and bookings!), we wouldn’t be here today.  We look forward to celebrating many more birthdays with all of you.

The Boss Is Away Sale

I’m not kidding…hurry, she will be back soon!

Tracy and her husband are celebrating their 20th wedding anniversary in Disneyland this week so we thought what better time to offer you a special deal!  You can receive double referral credit when you refer your friends or family to Travel On A Dream in general or any agent of Travel On A Dream other than Tracy (if you refer them to Tracy, you will still receive referral credit, but at the regular amount).  Booking must be confirmed between May 20th and May 27th with a deposit.  Not only do you receive the double referral credit but with eligible bookings, your friends and family will receive a $25 onboard credit or gift card payable at their time of travel!  Bookings must be $1500 or higher to qualify for the bonus $25 offer.

Hey, she is on vacation she shouldn’t be working anyways, right?  So let’s talk travel!  Email me at deb@travelonadream.com for any questions or more information, or simply submit a quote request at Travel On A Dream.

Happy Anniversary Tracy and Bill!

Two Exciting New Facebook Groups

Today we are launching two new Facebook groups for our Travel On A Dream fans and followers.  The first is a group for everyone to mix and mingle!  This group can be found at http://www.facebook.com/groups/4ToaD/ and is an open group for everyone to share and get to know each other.  This is a place for you to ask questions, help others, get to know others and just have fun.  Everyone is welcome as long as you are respectful to each other.  You are welcome to read on the group, however, if you wish to post, you will need to join the group.  This is an open forum so profanity is not allowed.  No solicitation please.  Violators will be removed from the group.

Our second group is a closed group, however anyone is welcome to join.  We have been enjoying participating in 5k races but more importantly following many of you in your races.  It is for this reason that we have decided to form a Travel On A Dream running team.   Of course, walkers are welcome (they have to or I couldn’t be a member!).  Our team will work on getting team entries for various runDisney events.  This will help those of you who don’t get your individual entry in before the races fill up.

To kick off this group, we have started a Facebook group and have our very own logo for the team.  What do you think?

ToaDRunners

Initially, membership in the group will be complimentary.  Any group events however may have an entry fee.  The Facebook group is a closed group, but anyone is welcome to join and all members can add other members too.  Check it out http://www.facebook.com/groups/ToaDRunners/.  This group page will be a great place to find out who is participating in various events (not just Disney!), get to know each other and help each other with their challenges and goals.  This is a closed group which means that non-members can see who is in the group but cannot see the content posted without joining the group.  While it is not open for everyone to see, we still request no profanity or solicitation.

We hope to see you in one of our groups and to meet you at upcoming events!

We’re Going On A Cruise!

We are in the final count down!  The bags are packed.  We’ve been watching the weather forecast and looking forward to warmer temperatures.  Facebook friends have been reporting soft openings of the New Fantasyland.  All we need to do is get through one more day of work and then we are off to Disney World and the Disney Fantasy!!

We have been planning this trip for the last two years.  Two years ago we decided we wanted to do a group cruise around Halloween, going to the Eastern Caribbean, on Disney of course!  As soon as the dates were available to book, our date was set and the planning began.  Now it is just three full days away, it almost seems unreal!  People have been telling me that they wish they were going on the cruise.  Others wonder what we are doing.  We will be posting some updates and hopefully a blog or two from the cruise, but wanted to give you an idea of what we will be doing.

Friday night, we will be having an informal gathering outside at the Boardwalk.  We’re hoping to see Illuminations without having to need tickets.  Then it’s off to bed to get ready for our bus ride to the port in the morning!  Yes, we have a bus coming to take many of us to Port Canaveral.  The excitement on the bus will be monumental when we see the Disney Fantasy for the first time as I am the only one who has been on the Fantasy.

Once onboard, we will have various meets in Europa, for trivia, at the pool, you name it!  We also have planned a ship tour, scavenger hunt, private beverage tastings, cabin tours, Twilight Fan meet, gift bags, mini golf tournament, a special 5k for Running for Rescues, and the ever popular AskTracy meet!  We could have done so many other things but we want to focus on what Disney has to offer its guests.

In St Maarten, we have a large group going on a private tour with Bernard’s Tours.  I’m sure there will be some great stories there!  We will be going on the 12 Metre Regatta.  This will be a first for us!  In St. Thomas, we have a private sail and snorkel excursion.

As part of this cruise, we wanted to do some fundraising to help an organization.  We chose Running for Rescues (RfR), a non-profit animal rescue organization.  This started because RfR asked me to do a 5k on their behalf.  I decided I would do the 5k on Castaway Cay.  I started fundraising and convinced a few others to join me on the 5k.  We had a t-shirt design made and formed a team with a common goal.  To date we have 28 people walking or running with us!  This didn’t seem good enough to me though.  I proposed that Travel On A Dream secure the private dining rooms at both Palo and Remy adult restaurants.  ToaD would pay for the dinners and our guests would bid to be in the room.  To date all contributions as a result of this fundraising effort (including the amounts raised by our individual 5k participants) is nearly $3,000!!  For you to contribute to our fundraiser, CLICK HERE.

Most of our cruisers haven’t been on a cruise longer than 4 nights so this will be very special for them all.  We feel that Disney does a fantastic job entertaining guests of all ages.  We want to be sure to showcase what they do best and leave our events to just taking advantage of Disney and experiencing all that we can.

For those that are not on this cruise with us, there is always another group!  We have a sailing next April on the Oasis of the Seas and next September on the Disney Magic.  Won’t you join us?
