Let the Memories Begin

Second missing blog found!  From 1/19 on our way to the Christening.

We arrived at Wilderness Lodge and got checked in.  Then it was time for lunch at Whispering Canyon.  Wendi our server made us feel right at home.  She asked the entire room if anyone had a first time visit button for Amy.  We had a good meal then headed out to Animal Kingdom.  We didn’t have much time so we road the safari, saw part of the parade, had martini slushies and did the Festival of the Lion King.  We ended up in the lion section.  Amy loved Animal Kingdom.  Especially the safari as there were more animals than we usually see.

After the park closed we had to return to the resort as we had to leave from the resorts since the party was only accessible from backstage.  We were taken into Frontierland and welcomed by many characters.  We grabbed a glass of wine then went to the Haunted Mansion.   After our ride we went to Pecos Bills for dinner.  All dining locations had the same food which was fabulous!  We had chicken, shrimp and pot roast with potatoes, salads and vegetables.  Popcorn carts dotted the parade route.

Shortly after eating, we made our way over to the path to the castle.  We waited for the bank to lead us up.  Once there in the forecourt, we found a lighted table while servers brought around desserts for us to try.

We were treated to the premiere of the new castle show which was really amazing, though the photos of the guests were difficult to make out in some locations on the castle.  The castle at times seemed animated which was incredible.

We ended the evening we a special Wishes fireworks display.  As we left the park we got Mickey rice krispy bars.

Today we are on our way to the port for the Christening.  In about an hour we will be arriving to see the beautiful Disney Dream!!
