Disney Fantasy Christening – A Star Studded Event

Back in December, I received a call from my District Sales manager to tell me that I would be invite to the Christening of the Disney Fantasy.  I was overjoyed!  I had been to the Disney Dream’s Christening and it was an amazing experience.  This would be much different, though.  For the Disney Dream, we arrived a day prior, stayed at the Wilderness Lodge and had a private party at the Magic Kingdom.  The next day we attended the Christening Ceremony at Port Canaveral, outside of curse, and then embarked on a two-night cruise.

For the Fantasy though, this would be in New York City during a cruise from Germany to Port Canaveral.  We would not be cruising or have a party in the Magic Kingdom.

As we walked over to the party, we saw the ship in the distance.  It was amazing to see her docked in the Big Apple!

We entered the port and everything looked festive.

We arrived onboard!  We were welcomed with a glass of champagne and walked around to see the fabulous atrium.  Soon it was time to get to the theater for the entertainment portion of the evening.  We found seats in the third row by an aisle.

Our host for the evening was Neil Patrick Harris.  What a fun host!

We were able to see a scene from each of the three shows on the Fantasy.  The first was Aladdin.

Disney’s Believe

Heather Headley

Mayor Bloomberg joined us.

Tim Gunn was there.

Alan Cummin

With Bob Igor

Disney’s Wishes was next

Tinkerbell made her appearance!

Heather Headley sang When You Wish Upon A Star

While the cast all came out for a final appearance.

We had a chance to talk to Tim Gunn.  My friend Regina had met him a couple times in the past.

We then went back to the Atrium for the Christening.

Bob Igor and Tom Skaggs introduced the Cast and Crew of the Disney Fantasy.

And fairy godmother Mariah Carey.

Minnie Mouse and Nick Cannon were outside with a bottle of champagne to crack over the bow while Mariah Carey christened the ship.

Next we were treated to a fabulous menu called “Taste of Disney Fantasy”.  We had a sampling of appetizers from all three restaurants, choice of entree and trio of desserts from each restaurant as well.

We toured the Europa adult entertainment district next.  Ooh La La was my favorite!  There was entertainment in each of the lounges with beverages for each one.

We left with a split of the Taittinger Disney Fantasy champagne along with a few other gifts.

All in all, this was a night of pure Fantasy!  We can’t wait to sail on this ship in a few weeks and again in October for the ToaD Fantasy sailing!
